Restylane® is an exciting addition to the soft tissue filler
family. Because of its safety and efficacy, it is the only filler
we use in this office.
Restylane® is non-animal, stabilized hyaluronic acid that is
used for lip enhancement and facial wrinkle treatment. Allergy testing
is not required and treatment can be initiated immediately. Although
results typically last 6 months or more, there is no fixed treatment
schedule and you control the frequency of treatments. We typically use
Restylane® for the following:
Lip augmentation
Nasolabial folds and marionette lines (these are the lines that
start
at the nose and extend around the mouth).
Vertical lines around the lips
Certain chin lines
Certain scarring (such as deeper acne scars)
Residual forehead wrinkles after Botox®
Residual frown lines after Botox®

Based on clinical studies3, Restylane treatments produce a very
low occurrence of adverse events. The most commonly reported side
effects were temporary redness and swelling at the injection site.
These effects typically resolve within two to three days.
